Ronald William "Bill" Smith
April 1, 1934 - December 23, 2021
Ronald William "Bill" Smith entered his heavenly home on December 23, 2021, with his loving wife by his side. He was 87 years old.
Bill was born to Arthur Boyd Smith and Verde Viola Smith on April 1, 1934, in Greene County, Mississippi. As a child, Bill was intrigued by the way things worked. He would often disassemble a new toy before he would actually play with it. It was this attribute that led him to open Smith Power Tools in 1971 and become a successful businessman for many years.
Bill met his wife, Ann Kirksey, in 1955 at Sears and Roebuck department store where they were both sales associates. This was a match truly made in heaven. They married on August 16, 1958, and went on to have two children, Kimbela Ann and William Kenneth.
In addition to being a dedicated husband and father, Bill also enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a passion for running deer with dogs, and bream fishing was his favorite. Throughout his entire life, he had an unwavering faith in God.
Bill is predeceased by his mother and father, his sister, Boyce Smith, and his nephew, Robin Walley. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ann Kirksey Smith, his sister, Connie Walley, his brother, Boyd Smith, his children, Kim Shook (Chuck), Ken (Traci), his grandchildren, Chad Turner (Jennifer), Ashley Turner Riggs (Jeremiah), Natalie Smith Landrum (Cameron), Colton Smith, Madison Mallon (Paul), Karson Green, and his great-grandchildren, Adalynn and Anistyn Riggs, Cooper and Coleman Turner, and Carson and Tenley Landrum.
