Rosemary Louise Smith Primeaux, a loving daughter, wife, mother and grandmother to three generations, passed away on April 1, 2016 at the age of 98. She was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana on June 22, 1917 to Mary Jeanette Kaough and John Andrew Munzer-Smith. She has lived in Mobile since 1955, having moved from Seguin, Texas.
Rosemary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 57 years, Minos F. Primeaux, along with her sons Dennis James Primeaux, John David Primeaux, and infant Brian Joseph.
She is survived by her four children, daughters Linda Myers (Citronelle, Al), Mary Becker (Manhattan Beach, Ca), Kathy Gioffre and husband Robert (Goshen, Ky) and son Robert F. Primeaux and wife Nancy (Horseshoe Bay, Tx). She was a "Granny" to 15 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, who were always welcomed with a plate of snickerdoodle cookies.
As a devout Catholic, she lived her faith every day and was a loyal parishioner of St. Ignatius Parish. She was an active volunteer with many Catholic charities, including St. Mary's Home, Ladies of Charity, ACCW Burse Club, and Little Sisters of the Poor, for which she sewed their very first quilt for a charity raffle.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church on Monday, April 4, 2016. Visitation with family will precede the mass from 9:30 - 10:00 at the Marian Center at St. Ignatius. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
