Roy O. Waller was called home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of May 5th, 2021 at the age of 83. Roy was born in Bayou La Batre, AL and resided in Buras, LA for 26 years prior to returning home to Grand Bay where he happily lived out the last 15 years of life near his family and friends. As a young man, Roy served his country in the U.S. Navy. He later found his life's passion in construction and woodworking. He was the proud owner of Waller Construction for 63 years.
Roy was preceded in death by three children, Michelle Waller, Judy (Roy) Gaber and Johnny Waller; three brothers, Merle Waller, John D. Waller and James Thomas Waller; three very precious sisters, Helen Waller, Dorothy Lyons and Patsy (Nick) Nichols, as well as his (step) son-in-law, Chad Hussar. Roy is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra Waller, of 39 years; three children, Shavonna Waller, Sherry Waller and Roy Waller, Jr.; two step-daughters, Belinda Hussar and Tonya Hamilton; four siblings, Jerry (Pam) Waller, George Waller, Betty Goodrum and Lelia Kerns; five precious step-grandchildren, Aaron, Emma, and Hannah Hussar and Hunter and Kaylee Everette; six grandchildren, April Giles, Brandon Waller, Brandi and Randall Nelson and Leah and Phillip Gaber; five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, many other family members and friends, as well as his church family at Grand Bay Assembly of God.
Roy loved to laugh, and he lived to make others laugh as well. In a room full of people, he would be heard over everyone sharing stories of his youth. Some were true, some were questionable, but either way they would put a smile on everyone's face. Roy loved to fish and swore until the end that the fish are bigger in Louisiana. Roy never wasted a day. He was always doing something productive, as he is one of the last of his kind. He will be greatly missed by us all. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 7, 2021 at 12:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilefuneralservice.com.
