Ruby Katherine Sawyer Cooper, a native of MS and longtime resident of Mobile, AL died Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the age of 88. After 30 years of service, Mrs. Cooper retired as a Merchandiser for American Greetings. Her family was of utmost importance in her life. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings; her husband, John Hermon Cooper, Sr.; and two sons, Don Raymond Cooper and John Harmon Cooper, Jr. Her survivors include her daughter, Patricia Cooper (Rodney) Wilson; her son, Kenneth Cooper; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Britt Cooper, Rodney Hunter Wilson, Kenneth Wade Cooper, Ryan McDonald, James David Adams, Sr. and Nick Myers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Mrs. Cooper's name be made to the American Cancer Society, 900 Western America Circle, Suite 101, Mobile, AL 36609.
