Rufus Clayton “RC” Butler, age 86, resident of Mobile, Alabama, was born February 7th, 1937, in Prentiss, Mississippi, and passed on October 25th, 2023, in Mobile, Alabama. RC was widely known as a former pastor of Cedar Grove Missionary Baptist Church, but he also served communities as an electrician and painter. He will be missed by all who had the privilege to know him.
Rufus Butler is preceded in death by; his parents, Clemmie Clayton and Maggie Elizabeth Butler.
Rufus is survived by; his loving wife, Doris Louise Summers Butler; daughter, Tammie (John) Jenkins; sister, Etta Faye Rainey; grandson, Sloan (Karson) Jenkins, great-grandson, Clayton Paul Jenkins; several special nieces & nephews; and church family and friends.
Funeral services for Mr. RC Butler will be held on October 30th, 2023, at 12 P.M. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with Rev. William Davis pastor of Val haven Missionary Baptist church officiating. Burial will follow services at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the services on October 30th, 2023, from 11 A.M. to 12 P.M. at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
Pallbearers: Sloan Jenkins, Daniel Bouvier, Jim McAleer, Kevin Wright, Darren Bonin, and Danny Langley.
