Russell Crum Bosarge, Sr., 70, a lifelong resident of Coden, AL, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, September 23, 2018 surrounded by his family. He was dedicated and devoted to his family and friends; was a US Army veteran; served in Viet Nam and retired from International Paper Mill, Moss Point, MS after 30 years of service. Russell was a faithful, caring and giving member of Coden United Methodist Church. He enjoyed spending time at the church cutting grass and contributed many other hours to the church. He also enjoyed fishing and was an Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves Baseball fan. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Edward Bosarge, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Kennerson Bosarge; his brother, Charles "Pud" Bosarge and his sister, Linda Oline Bosarge. On September 26, 1969 he married the love of his life, Joan Marie Stupack Bosarge and, on September 26, 2018, they would have celebrated their 49th anniversary. His survivors include his loving wife, Joan; his son, Russell Crum (Belinda) Bosarge, Jr.; his daughter, Lisa Lynn Bosarge (Marty) Marcellus; 5 grandsons, Russell Crum Bosarge, III, Harrison James Marcellus, Logan Seth Bosarge, Riley Johnson and Darren Bosarge; 5 granddaughters, Annie Marie Paige Marcellus, Reighan Alyvia Bosarge, Kailey Skye Knight, Leaha Nicole Brown and Leigha Cain; a devoted brother-in-law, Joe (Linda) Stupack; other relatives; extended family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Russ Bosarge, Harrison Marcellus, Logan Bosarge, Riley Johnson, Darren Bosarge and Gabel Foutz. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Sepember 27, 2018 at 2:00 PM from Coden United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday from 12:00 Noon until service time. Interment, with military honors, will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery in Bayou La Batre, AL. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
