Ruth Johnson

Ruth Elizabeth Marvin Johnson, beloved wife and mother, went to be with the Lord Sunday, January 5, 2020 at the age of 82 with her family by her side. Ruth was born January 14, 1937 in Muhlenberg, PA to Eugene Alanson Marvin and Sylvan May Belles Marvin. She graduated from Bob Jones University with a degree in Elementary Education and married Walter Johnson in 1965. She loved her family and was active in her church teaching Sunday School for many years. Ruth is survived by her loving husband, Walter Louis Johnson; four children, Tricia Gooch (Gary), Kenneth Johnson (Joy), Rodney Johnson (Jamie), and Tamara Foshee (Danny); and eight grandchildren, Amanda Gooch, Ashley Gooch, Adam Gooch, Wendy Johnson, Matthew Johnson, Mallory Johnson, Tyler Foshee and Caitlin Foshee; sisters, Ann Parker (Richard) and Mary Hartt (Paul); sister-in-law, Betty Marvin; other loving relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene Alanson Marvin and Sylvan Belles Marvin, and her brothers, John Seymour Marvin and Thomas Eugene Marvin. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 12:00 Noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday morning from 10:00 AM until service time. Pastor Glen Beauchamp of Greystone Bible Church will officiate.
