Samuel Vaughn, Jr.

Samuel (Sam) Burke Vaughn Jr. of Fairhope, Alabama went to be with the Lord peacefully in his sleep on August 5th, 2021 at the age of 82 years old.

Visitation will be open to family and friends on Monday, August 9th from 1:00pm-2:00pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, located on Three Notch Road. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Sam was born on April 10th, 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama to Samuel and Dorothy Vaughn. Sam grew up in Mobile, Alabama graduating from Murphy High School. He married and began his family shortly after. Sam was enlisted in the United States Army Reserves, and was a member of the Sheriffs Posse'. He was crafted and skilled in woodworking and especially loved building and designing bird houses. He was heavily involved in his church and served as a Deacon for many years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and riding the lawn mower with his great grandson, Blake. Sam was a humble, yet strong man and will always be remembered by his gentle and kind presence.

Sam is proceeded in death by his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Burke Vaughn Sr. and nephew Daniel Vaughn. He is survived by his Wife of over 60 years, Vivian Vaughn. Only sibling, Donnie (Mary) Vaughn. Sons, Robert (Laura) Vaughn and Randy Vaughn. Grandchildren, Robbie Vaughn (Katie Murphree and children), Allie Vaughn-Barnette (Nate), Brittany Vaughn (Nick Swartz and children), and one Great Grandson Blake Vaughn. Niece, Beth Brock (Virgil) and great nephew and niece Will and Georgia Vaughn.
