Sandra Blanchard

Sandra Louise Blanchard, 73, beloved Wife, Mother and Grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on September 19, 2020. She entered this world on January 20, 1947 in Charleston, SC, born to James and Miriam Ferguson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Miriam Frances Altman Ferguson and James Harold Ferguson and her brother, Randy Ferguson. She is survived by her husband, Leonard Blanchard; her siblings, Virginia Keck and Steven Ferguson (Lisa); her three children, Brian Davis (Mary), Danielle Rowe (Scott) and Blake Blanchard (Elizabeth); and grandchildren, Hayley Rowe McCarron (Josh), Zachary Rowe, Brantley Rowe, Matthew Blanchard, Hannah Blanchard, Caleb Abner, Chandler Davis, Cailen Davis and Cheyenne Davis and other members of a large loving family and friends. Len and Sandy married on May 19, 1971 and spent forty-nine wonderful years together. Sandy worked for University of South Alabama Hospital and Surgeons of Mobile. Sandy was a member of a Mardi Gras society in Mobile, Al where she met many of her dear friends. Sandy enjoyed traveling to the beaches of Alabama, having parties by her backyard pool with all her family and was an avid Alabama football fan. She especially enjoyed spending days with her family and friends, and she treasured every moment she spent with them. Sandy was known for her spunky personality and sense of humor and could always fill a room with smiles and laughter. She will be remembered by those who loved her as a remarkable Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations in Mrs. Blanchard's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Heart Association. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 25, 2020 at 11:00 AM from St. Dominic Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at the church Friday morning from 10:00 AM until service time. If attending, please comply with social distancing guidelines. Facial masks are required.
