Shadel Wayne Hilton was born on October 18, 1936 in a little house in Eight Mile, AL and resided in the Theodore and St. Elmo areas. He passed away in a local hospital on July 7, 2020. He was the son of Vernon Hilton and Lucy Hilton Giles. Mr. Hilton was pre-deceased by his sisters, Miriam (Ray) Russell and Llama Earl (Bill) Waller and his brother Pat Hilton. He is survived by his wife Patricia Hadley Hilton, daughters Missy (Paul) Carter, Jennifer Hilton Stewart, son Gary Hilton, grandchildren Jami (Michael) Brannon and Jeffrey Carter, and brother LaDon (Dot) Hilton.
Mr. Hilton loved his family, his many friends in the Barbershop Harmony Society (chorus & quartets), and his church family at St. Elmo Seventh-day Adventist Church. He served the Mobile area as a mortician and funeral home owner / transport services for many years until his retirement. He never met a stranger! He was generous, and caring and would go out of his way to help anyone in need. It was rare to see him not smiling and joking around with others, and he was always adding an element of cheer and pizzazz to any room he entered. He was a firm believer that life was better when you're singing! He will be greatly missed and we eagerly await the day we will all see him again! Until then, rest in Jesus and we will meet you in the "sweet by and by" where there will be no more pain and suffering and we will join you in filling the courts of Heaven with songs of eternal praise!
