Sharel Delery

Sharel Elaine Delery peacefully passed away on September 5, 2024, at her home in Mobile, Alabama at the age of 72.

Born on August 18, 1952, in Alabama, to Andrew Chestang and Zeola Johnston, Sharel dedicated her career to serving others as a compassionate Case Manager at Providence Hospital.

Sharel was an avid Alabama Football fan. She could be found on Saturdays in the fall cheering on the Crimson Tide to victory. Sharel's greatest love was her family.

She leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness as a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Sharel is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph W. Delery; parents, Andrew and Zeola Chestang; and her sister, Angie Willis.

She leaves behind her daughters, Mary Luft (Brian) of Daphne, Alabama and Jamie Delery of Mobile, Alabama; grandchildren, William Luft (Savannah) of Spanish Fort, Alabama, Mary-Michael Luft (Zack) of Daphne, Alabama; great-granddaughter, Lena-Grace Tanz of Daphne, Alabama; sisters, Joann Thomas (Carl) of Mobile, Alabama, Carol Loper (JB) of Eight Mile, Alabama, Shirley Chestang of Mobile, Alabama; brother, Howard Chestang of Mobile, Alabama; and numerous nieces, nephews, and loving family and friends.

A Memorial Service to celebrate Sharel's life will be held at Little Flower Catholic Church, located at 2053 Government Street in Mobile, on September 10, 2024, at 12:00 pm. Prior to the service, a Public Visitation will take place at the church at 11:00 am, providing an opportunity for friends and family to pay their final respects.

Sharel's kindness, generosity, and loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who were touched by her presence. May she rest in peace knowing she was loved and will be deeply missed.
