Sheila Burgess

Sheila Lynn (Stork) Burgess, age 59, passed away at her family residence in Grand Bay, AL on February 5, 2022.

She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Sheila was a precious soul, an angel sent by God to touch all of us with her love and grace. She spent her life devoted to others and cared deeply for every person no matter who they were. Her mission was to lift us all up with her love to be our best selves. Love radiated from her smile and sweet ways that made everyone who knew her feel blessed. We knew she loved us. She adored pets and they were all special to her. Our hearts are broken, but we are grateful God shared her with us, for she was truly the light and joy of our lives and we will love her forever.

Sheila was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Theodore, where she was a dedicated follower of Christ and served many roles within the church. She was an avid Alabama football fan. She also loved spending time on the beach with her friends. For 20 years, Sheila enjoyed working at Thames Batre Insurance.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Stork.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Scott Burgess; sons, Taylor Shepherd and Blake Shepherd; step-children, Kandice Burgess and Dillan Burgess; step-grandchildren, Jaelyn and Bree Burgess; mother, Jackie

Stork; brother, Gerald (Laura) Stork; and nephews, Louis Stork, Cooper Stork, and Alex Stork; her beloved dog, Jake; other relatives and many friends.

Services will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with public visitation from 12:00pm until the 2:00pm. Following visitation, a memorial service will be held in the chapel. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
