Shirley Mcclain

Shirley Blum Strickland McClain, age 79, a resident of Amarillo, TX and a native of New Orleans, LA gained her wings Tuesday, February 8, 2022. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother. Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband, John T. Strickland, Jr., her parents, Alfred Blum and Ellen Ducoing, three brothers and one sister. Shirley is survived by her two children, William "Joby" Johnson and Al Turner, sister, Adele Gourgues, daughter in law, Christina Johnson, granddaughter, Christen Moore and her husband Jake Moore and her great- grandson, Aiden Ballest. Shirley's family would like to thank her friends and family for the love they shared with Shirley during her time on Earth. The family would also like to thank Legacy Nursing Home for making her last few years as pleasant as possible. Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, February 18,2022 at 12 noon. Visitation will be 10am until service time Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
