Stephen J. Heisler, age 62, of Mobile, AL, passed away February 4, 2022 at his home from COVID.
Born on August 14, 1959 in Orange, New Jersey, he was the oldest child of John (Jack) and Marilyn (Weber) Heisler.
Steve's family moved to Mobile, AL in 1966. He was a standout baseball player at McGill Toolen High School and received baseball scholarships to Faulkner State Junior College and Athens State University where he graduated with a B.S. degree in Business. He was a lifelong student of the game of baseball.
He worked in the chemical industry for over 25 years, until his recent retirement in November, 2021
He was a devoted father and grandfather. Steve's love of sports would find him in the stands of many little league, babe ruth, and professional baseball, football and basketball games. His grandkids will miss their Papi. He also enjoyed hunting with his friends and spending time with his Mom at the casinos. He enjoyed attending games at University of South Alabama, the University of Alabama, and the Green Bay Packers. He was a proud shareowner of the Green Bay Packers
Those left behind to celebrate his life are his mother Marilyn Heisler, children Lance (Lauren) Heisler, Adam (Jennifer) Heisler, and Lyndsey Heisler (Justin). Grandchildren Easton, Bowden, Caleb, Jacob and Breleigh. Siblings Eric Heisler and Kristin Van Drisse.
Nephews Connor Van Drisse, Nicholas (Regan) Heisler and Zack Heisler. Special friend Bonita Westry.
Greeting him at heaven's gates will be his father Jack Heisler.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, February 15 after 11:00 with the service at 12:00 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home 6040 Three Notch Road Mobile, AL.
