Susan Janell Bosarge

Today we mourn the loss of lifelong Bayou La Batre /Irvington, AL native, Susan Janell LaForce Bosarge. Janell passed away comfortably at home on Tuesday, February 18, 2020 at the age of 63, after fighting a long battle with cancer. She was happily married to her loving husband, Douglas Leon Bosarge for 45 years and raised 2 daughters, Daphne and Amy. She was a devoted, loving wife and mother who took care of her family, always putting them first. She loved life and cared for others, never turning anyone away. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold Henry “Buddy” LaForce and Mercedes Elise Steiner LaForce; brother, Francis H. LaForce and sister, Mercedes E. Wright. Her survivors include her loving husband, Douglas Leon Bosarge; two daughters, Daphne B. Heaton (Charles K.) and Amy D. Bosarge; granddaughter, Leslie Oglesby; brother, Lionel LaForce; lifelong childhood friend, Judy Taylor McGallager; 2 special friends, Sabra Collier and Russell (Rusty) Collier Jr.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 24, 2020 at 10:00 AM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening, February 23, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Monday morning from 9:00 AM until service time. Susan Janell LaForce Bosarge will be carried to her final resting place in Odd Fellows Cemetery by her friends, David McGallager, Chuck Peyregne, Barry Thompson, Bubba Noels, Kendell Stork and nephew Scott Bosarge.
