Sybil (Covington) Lee passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Kenneth H. Lee, for whom she was a Proverbs 31 wife. She is also survived by her sons and their wives: Jason and Kimberly (McCullough) Lee of Ohio and Jeff and Eva (Chou) Lee of Maryland, for whom she was a caring and intentional mother. Sybil also enjoyed the love of her six grandchildren: McKayla, Hayden, Graham, Jackson, McKenzie, and Abigail Lee. She is also survived by her siblings, Billy (Carol) Covington, Linda (John) Grimes, and Joyce (Dean) Simmons along with her sisters-in-law, Barbara Cunningham and Elizabeth McLaney. She was proceeded in death by her parents, Burrien (Jack) and Pearl (Perry) Covington and her in-laws, Robert and Evie (Byrd) Lee. She spent much time investing in and connecting with her family and extended family, including multiple cousins, nieces and nephews. Sybil was a lifelong resident of Mobile County. She graduated from Mary G. Montgomery High School ('67) and the University of Mobile (English/ Art, '00). Sybil spent years serving the church especially as a children's, youth, and adult Bible teacher at Zion Baptist, Moffett Road Baptist, and West Mobile Baptist Church. Her career began with the phone company, then Central Optical, before working at home. Later, she worked as a preschool teacher, church receptionist, and then as an administrative assistant (University of Mobile). She was a competitor in her four favorite sports: church softball, recreation running (especially the Azalea Trail Run), decorating, and shopping. A public celebration of Sybil's life and hope in the Lord will be held at her church, West Mobile Baptist Church on Friday, December 22, 2017 at 6:00 PM.
