Sybil Adjeline Fore Lomax, age 84, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 12, 2016 at her home in Satsuma, AL. She is survived by her three children, Richard Lomax (Mary K), Cynthia L. Sherrer (Timothy) and Russell Lomax (Kelly); her beloved grandchildren, Christopher Sherrer, Megan S. Neel (Michael), Taylor Sherrer, Avery Lomax, Hunter Lomax, Preston Lomax and Sophie Lomax; her great-granddaughter, Kate Neel; her sister, Janice F. (Jimmy) Cate; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Fore and Kathryn Fore, many nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Sybil was born in Hybart, AL on May 31, 1932. She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen Nelson Fore, Sr. and Vivian Robinson Fore; her husband of 54 years, Fred P. Lomax, Sr.; her infant son, Fred Preston Lomax, Jr. and two brothers, William "Lonnie" Fore and Nelson Fore. Sybil enjoyed a life full of family and friends. Her sweet, kind spirit made her a joy to be around and her infectious smile lit up a room, especially when her one true love, Fred P., was near. Many days could find her bird-watching on the back porch or at Orange beach where she and Fred often visited with family, playing dominoes late into the night. Sybil loved the Lord and lived her life as a giver with a servant's heart. She leaves a legacy of strong children and grandchildren who are grateful to have such a beautiful soul's footsteps to follow. Sybil will be remembered as a courageous, gentle, patient Southern Lady. Fred and Sybil were members of First Baptist Church Satsuma for over 60 years and previously attended Shadow Lawn Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Sybil Lomax's name be made to First Baptist Church Satsuma or the American Cancer Society. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12:00 Noon until service time. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
