Thad Gaines

Thad Gaines, 38, of Grand Bay, AL, passed away on July 2nd, 2022 at UAB hospital with family by his side.

Thad was born in Mobile, AL and attended Theodore High School. He loved Alabama football, riding 4-wheelers and watching the UFC fights. His smile and laughter were contagious. Thad was almost impossible to ruffle and always tried to make the best of any situation. He loved to be surrounded by family and friends. Thad didn't take the word "friend" lightly, so those who held this title were very special to him.

Thad was a skilled electrician, working in the trade for 20 years. For the last ten years, he was employed by Progressive Electric Design. The family would like to thank Jason and the company for patience, understanding, and support from day one of Thad's fight with Cancer.

Thad fought hard for 4 months with the help of excellent doctors and staff at Mobile Infirmary and UAB. Although he is not physically with us, we know he is an angel watching over everyone he loved.

He is preceded in death by his father, Edward McCall, grandmother Alice Chapman, great grandmother Georgia Gaines and beloved Niece, Kristen Smith.

He is survived by his Mother, Angela Gaines; Sister, Melissa (Jeff) Greene; Niece, Amber Greene (Kyle Keys); Nephew, Tony (Jewel) Greene, and Honorary Nephew, Bentley "Cadillac" Wilkinson. He also leaves behind two beautiful Great Nieces, Kinsley and Adelie Keys; Uncle, Matt (sherry) Chapman; and Cousins Chance Chapman, Corey Chapman, and Paige Chapman.
