Thelma Mahoney

Thelma Coggin Mahoney, age 88, of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018. She was born January 14, 1930 in Castleberry, Alabama. Her childhood nickname given by her Daddy was "Sugar Boots". Thelma led an active social life and community involvement with her church, garden club, Bridge and ballroom dancing. She was the perfect role model for her family as she taught the importance of kindness and a loving heart. "It's True" as she would say! Thelma will be missed by many as she was a beautiful southern lady. Her survivors include her daughters, Wanda Coggin Walters, Cynthia (Shelby) Coggin Simmons, Anita (Russell) Coggin Nelson; grandchildren, Christopher (Erin) Ryan Marcet, Brandi (Andrew) Simmons Johns, John Preston Hardaway, Ryan Brandon Coggin, Taylor (Jordan) Hardaway Brown; great-grandchildren, Hailey Rose Hardaway Wachtel, Harrison Thomas Marcet, and William Tucker Marcet, other relatives and friends. Private services were held.
