Thelma Anderson Murray, age 94, a longtime resident of Theodore, AL departed this life peacefully on Saturday, March 10, 2018. Thelma retired from Keesler Air Force Base after many years of service. She enjoyed gardening her flowers, cooking her famous gumbo and Braves baseball. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leslie and Armena Carley Anderson; her husband, Webber Wilson Murray; her sister, Catherine Murray; her former husband and father of her five children, James H. Douglas; one son, David M. Douglas, and one grandson, "Bo" Bunch. Her survivors include her children, Thelma (John) Bunch, James "Bubba" Douglas, Norman (Tina) Douglas and Toni (Kevin) Callaghan; three siblings, Robert (Roberta) Anderson, Leslie (Bess) Anderson and Carley (Carolyn) Anderson; twelve grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; her caregiver of many years, Cathy Moses; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Chaplain Shawn Mizelle, will be held Thursday, March 15, 2018 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 noon until service time. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
