Thomas W. Walker, 86, of Mobile, Al. went to His heavenly home on February 16, 2021. He was born August 18, 1934 in Demopolis, Alabama. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. After serving 4 years Active Duty and 4 years Reserve, he settled down in Chickasaw, Alabama. He met and married the love of his life, Clara Day, who preceeded him in death. Tom was a loving husband who worked and provided for his wife and 5 children for 61 years. He had an extensive career in drafting and engineering. He had his hand in alot of designs in Mobile such as the George Wallace Tunnel. Tom was a founding member and charter member of Mercy Ministries, where he attended church. He was a long time member of the masonic fraternity, Scotish Rite Shrimers, and the Order of the Eastern Star. He is survived by his 5 children, Jerry Walker, John S. Walker Sr., (Donna), Tangie Few (Ronnie), Susan Cooper (Jim) and Chris Walker (Dara). 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. Tom is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
Visitation will be at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 23 at 11:00 AM with funeral service following at 12:00 PM.
