Treallie Tillman

Mrs. Treallie Vadera (Cooper) Tillman, a native of Waynesboro, Mississippi, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2015 in Grand Bay, Alabama. Treallie moved to Mobile in 1946 after graduating from school, where she played girls basketball and led her team to win state championships. She met her husband Charles Edward Tillman while working at Kress Department Store in downtown Mobile and they married in 1947. Her love for plants and flowers turned from a hobby to a family business. She opened Tillman's Nursery and Garden Center in 1975 on the family property located on Three Notch Rd. A devoted church member to Calvary Assembly of God Church. She served as a Sunday school teacher, choir member, and president of WM's (women's ministry) amongst many other works for her Lord and Savior. She was preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Mamie Cooper; husband of 55 years, Charles Edward Tillman; sons, Charles Edward Tillman, Jr., Richard Darryl Tillman; granddaughter, Melissa C. Tillman; brothers, T.V. Cooper, Trenton Cooper, Burlip Cooper and daughter in law, Pam. She is survived by her children, Clyde Wayne Tillman, Margaret (Tony) Alexander, Mike (Peggy) Tillman, Charlotte (Mickey) Parker, thirteen grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren; and one great great grandchild; extended grandchildren and great grandchild; sisters; Bonnie (Jack) Harris, Lencia (James) Tillman, Shay (Robert) Massingale and brother, Duward Cooper; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2014 at 12 noon from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Saturday 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home. Interment will be held in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
