Troy Hueston Dunnam, Jr., of Gulf Shores, Alabama, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018 with his family by his side. A celebration of his life will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Thursday, January 11, 2018 at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 12:00 Noon until service time. Internmet will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Troy was a 1961 graduate of Theodore High School, and attended the University of Southern Mississippi. He worked for his father at Dunnam Produce until he started, what would become, a prestigious career spanning over 45 years in the construction industry. Troy oversaw high profile, complex projects that would total in the billions of dollars. When asked, Troy would say some of his proudest projects include: football stadium expansions at LSU, Arkansas, and Virginia Tech, and the downtown Charlotte Performing Arts Center. He was an entertainer at heart. He loved fishing, hunting, and all things Crimson Tide, but mostly loved being with his family and friends eating, drinking, and laughing. He was one of the greatest story tellers of all times and will be missed by many from coast to coast. In the words of Troy himself, "Roll Tide, hooah!" He is survived by his three sons; Troy A. Dunnam, Sr. (DeeDee), L. Alan Dunnam (Kristine), and Jason E. Dunnam (Laila); his daughter, Karyn Dunnam Natella (Joseph); step-daughter, Sheri Amelio Dunnam; grandchildren, Christie Dunnam, Troy Dunnam, Jr., Chase Dunnam, Aaron Dunnam, Rachael (Dunnam) Hartman, Kellye (Natella) Smith, Katheryn (Natella) Dante, Lauren (Dunnam) Beck, Emily Dunnam, Tyler Dunnam, Nickolas Dunnam, Zachary Dunnam, and Gavin Dunnam; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister, Jo Webb (Freddie); brother, William "Bubba" Dunnam (Carolyn); brother-in-law, James M. Bizjak; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Troy was preceded in death by his wife, Flora Elizabeth (Cotton) Dunnam; father, Troy Hueston Dunnam, Sr.; mother, Beulah Mae Waldorf Dunnam; and sisters, Margaret Bizjak and Willhelmena Foley.
