Vaudie Faye Newbill Dunn, resident of Mobile, Alabama passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2018 at the age of 80. She was born on November 13, 1938 in Leakesville, Mississippi to Vody Alton Newbill and Rebecca Earlyne Mills Newbill. She was a beloved wife and devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Lt. Colonel, USAF (Ret.) Billy Cubert Dunn; three daughters Darlene Betts (Joel), Deanna Graham (Dwight) and Daphne Williams (Keith); six grandchildren, William Betts, Hardy Graham, Jackson Graham, Nicholas Williams, Carter Williams and Morgan Williams; brother James Newbill (Maureen); sister Kay Haas (Mark); and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents Vody and Earlyne Newbill and brother Vernon Alton Newbill.
Vaudie graduated Vigor High School in 1956 where she was a member of the National Honor Society. Upon graduation she began working for Merchants National Bank. In February 1961, she married Bill and they made the first of many military-assigned moves (Kansas, Alaska, Nebraska, California, Greece and a return to Nebraska) over the next 23 years. After each move she always created a wonderful home for her husband and daughters. Upon returning to Mobile, Vaudie joined the Regions Bank student loan department where she became an officer of the bank in the mid 1990's. A member of Kushla-Bethany Baptist Church (Bethany Baptist), Vaudie was a talented seamstress, loved to read and spend time going to her grandchildren's events.
A visitation for Vaudie will be held Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 8:00 am to 10:00 am at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, followed by a chapel service at 10:00 am and committal service at the grave site.
