Velma L. Irving, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday. She is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel M. Irving, son, Charles "Chuck" Irving, grandchild, Danny Irving, great-grandchild, Brandon Christian and sisters, Clara Philyaw and Helen Wiggins. She is survived by her loving children, daughter, Dannette Davis (Randy), John Irving (Jeanne) and daughter-in-law, Martha Lyons (Jim), She is also survived by five grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Velma will also be remembered as a faithful servant to God and one who loved her church and church family. Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons, Paul Davis, Steve Garner, Adam Garner, Taylor Christian, Dwayne Christian and Glen Perry. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Griffin and Roger Lewis, Jr. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Calvary United Pentecostal Church, 4007 Halls Mill Rd. Mobile, AL 36693. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 12 noon on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered
