Vermelle Cartee

1927-2019

A native of Greene County, MS and resident of Mobile, AL died on Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at the age 91. Mrs. Cartee worked as a Machine Tender at Brookley AFB for 42 years. She loved her family, sewing, cooking and dancing. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Henry and Sarah Crenshaw Kitchens; husband, John W. Cartee; granddaughter, Chasta L. Cartee; great grandson, James E. Cartee. She is survived by six children, J. Trentis Bush, William Donald Cartee, Thomas E. “Eddie” (Zheny) Cartee, Wendell R. (Susan) Cartee, Terry L. Cartee, Pamela C. (Terry) Knight; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; five great greatgrandchildren. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, August 2, 2019 at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12:00 PM.
