Mr. Vernon Andrew Tice, Sr. a native of Meridian, MS and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died on Tuesday. Mr. Tice was a longtime member of Travis Road Baptist Church and retired from the I.C.G. Railroad after 33 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Virginia B. Tice; daughters, Nora Kay Smith and Gayla Joy Gardner, sons, Vernon (Andy) Tice, Jr. and wife Kay, James Anthony (Tony) Tice and wife Allison, Ben Edward (Bo) Tice and wife Selena; one brother, Hugh James Tice, Jr. and one sister, Mary Frances Quinn; fourteen grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren and many other relatives. Mr. Tice was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh James and Claudie Mae Tice, son, Darrell Alan Tice, and brother, James C. Tice, sister, Louise Tice Robertson and son-in-law, Ricky Smith. Mr. Tice will be3 fondly remembered by family and friends as an avid hunter and fisherman. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 12 noon. Visitation will be Friday from 5 to 7 PM. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Travis Road Baptist Church, 5226 Travis Rd., Mobile, AL 36619.
