Violet Louise Chighizola Kosko
Violet Louise Chighizola Kosko, a native and lifelong resident of Mobile, AL, passed away at home Saturday, January 31, 2015 at the age of 92. She was a lifelong member of St. John's Episcopal Church; a graduate of Murphy High School and was formerly employed as secretary to the Naval Commander of Brookley Field. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Clarence Chighizola and Laura Louise Griffin Chighizola; her husband of 67 years, Joseph Patrick Kosko and her grandson, Andrew Tatum. Survivors include her daughters, Katherine A. Tatum, Mary Christine (Michael Wayne) Bonner, Patricia Ann (Tommy) Tyrrell and Marcia Jane (Ed) Prewitt; five grandchildren, Laura M. (Russ) Ford, Parrish (Leslie) Tatum; Stephanie E. (Jason) Gantt, Ellen L. Prewitt, and Ashleigh G. (Alan) Higgins; five great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Thomas Heard, will be held Thursday, February 5, 2015 at 10:00 AM from St. John's Episcopal Church. The family will receive friends at the church Thursday morning from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations in Mrs. Kosko's name be made to St. John's Episcopal Church, 1707 Government Street, Mobile, AL 36604.
