Virginia Hammond

Virginia M.Hammond, a lifelong resident of Grand Bay, AL, passed away on her 85th birthday, September 28, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, William H. Hammond; her son, Jason Hammond; Parents, Jesse and Rosie Stagner; brothers, Jesse Stagner, Wayne Stagner and Windell Stagner; and grandson, Joshua Ory.

She is survived by her children, Anthony (Diana) Hammond, Violet (Matt) Stewart, Dorlan (Tonya) Hammond and Joyce (Wayne) Turnage. 13 grandchildren: Dana, Dewayne, Jessica, Virginia "Gina", Clarke, Bill, Micheala, Leanna, Lemar, Jeremy, Justin, Paige, and Peyton.

34 great grandchildren: Whitney, Walker, Madison, Mallory, Marshall, Landon, Fallyn, Brianna, Cheyenne, Chance, Tripp, Archer, Bentley, Shaina, Serenity, JayLynn, Dakota, Slater, Destiny, Lyndsay, Preslee, Hunter, Allie, Colton, Adaleigh, Carson, Brayden, Harley, Nova, Kendall, Jackson, Hayden, Holden, and Jordyn.

One great-great granddaughter; Violet, one very special sister-in-law, Margaret, as well as many friends, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 at 2 PM. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Virginia will be laid to rest in the Grand Bay Cemetery next to her beloved husband, Bill.
