Virginia “Gina” Manley Johnson was born February 8, 1922 in Minneapolis MN, raised in Duluth, MN and passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2019 in Mobile AL. Gina was predeceased by her parents, Howard and Virginia Manley and Dorothy O’Neil and her brother and sister-in-law, Frank and Ruth Manley.  Surviving relatives are her daughter, Susan Holland (Bill) of Naples FL; son Dr. Thomas Scott Johnson (Cynthia) of Concord MA; sister, Nancy Erickson of Minneapolis MN; grandchildren, Kelly Roberts, Sarah Warburg-Johnson and Bettina Warburg-Johnson; five great-grandchildren; her niece, Louise (Frank) Gardner of Mobile AL; many great-nieces, nephews and wonderful friends whom she treasured, including her long-time companions, “Duffy” and “Sophie”.  She attended Rockford College for Women and the University of Minnesota where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta National Sorority.  She was a long time member of Spring Hill Presbyterian Church, The Junior League of Mobile, the Alabama Ornithological Society, RSVP and the Arthritis Foundation of Mobile. She recently retired after 38 years in residential real estate sales. Gina would like to be remembered as a true lover of nature and the outdoors.  A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 12:00 Noon at Springhill Presbyterian Church, Mobile, AL.  A reception will follow.  In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be made to Spring Hill Presbyterian Church.  Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
