Virginia Ann Thompson Sellers, a native of Arkansas City, AR, was called home to Heaven Thursday, April 21, 2016 at the age of 91. She was raised in Mt. Vernon, AL, Mobile (Theodore), AL area and Repton, AL and resided in Mobile the past 16 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church Tillman's Corner where she was active in Amazing Grays Senior Adult Choir; taught a senior adult ladies' Sunday school class and played the piano many years for several churches. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Elvie Thompson and Mabel Baker Thompson, and her husband of 54 years, Denver Ray Sellers. Her survivors include five children, Mabel Virginia Sellers Danford, William Ray (Paulette) Sellers, Mark Alan (Gale) Sellers, James Keith (Bliss) Sellers and Jamie Karen (Ed) Beyer; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Martha Donoghue, Polly Cherry and Carol (Rob) Nutt; numerous nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Mrs. Sellers' name to First Baptist Church Tillman's Corner Building Fund, 5660 Three Notch Road, Mobile, AL 36619 or the E. A. Roberts Alzheimer's Center, 169 Mobile Infirmary Blvd., Mobile, AL 36607. The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Covenant Hospice for their exemplary care and family support. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 10:00 AM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 8:30 AM until service time.
