Virginia Hempfleng Wiley, age 86, passed away on Friday. Mrs. Wiley was a native of Mobile, Alabama. She moved to Huntsville, AL in 1956 with her husband and two sons. She was employed in Huntsville with the U.S. Army Missile Command Center as clerk steno until she retired. In 1975, Mrs. Wiley and her husband both were retired and moved back to her home town of Mobile to be near her family. They remained residents of Mobile until both of their deaths. Mrs. Wiley was a member of the Mobile Federated Garden Club, was active with the Red Hatter's Club, and a member of the Moffett Road Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar and Mable Hempfleng, her husband of 65 years, Robert G. Wiley, four brothers, J.F. Hempfleng, Edgar (Juney) Hempfleng, Charles Hempfleng, Bobby Hempfleng and a sister, Sara Sigouin. She is survived by two sons, Glenn(Susan) Wiley and Rick Wiley; three grandchildren, Rachel(Chip) Turner, Jennifer(Jason) Franklin and Chris(Jackie) Wiley; four step-grandchildren, Neil Holifield, Ashley(Ryan) Harvey, Hadley(Lucas) Dobson and Courtney(Evan) Bradley; two brothers, C.C. (Dottie) Hempfleng, Jimmy (Ann) Hempfleng; one sister, Linda (Rick) Hoss; a special friend and ex-daughter-in-law, Lee Wiley; seven great great-grandchildren, three step great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren especially at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter. She was a very special wife, mother and Grandmaw! Visitation will be Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
