Voncile Salmon

Voncile Salmon, 88, Tuesday, October 13, 2015 went home to be with the Lord. She was surrounded by family and loved ones in Hoover, AL. Born February 25, 1927 in Castleberry, AL. She was the daughter of William Franklin Sowell and Claudia Hart Sowell.
She was a graduate of W..S.Neal High School. She worked at Jordan Construction Company as a Bookkeeper for over 30 years. She was an active member of Knollwood Church in Mobile then later at Kingwood Church in Alabaster, AL She always enjoyed visiting with family and friends. Words used to describe Voncile are loving, giving, funny, caring, loved to dance and sing. She is survived by two sons, Charles Edwin Salmon, Jr, Mark Douglas Salmon, one daughter, Brenda Ellen Salmon, one granddaughter, Sarah Elizabeth Salmon, one sister, Gladys Scoggan, one step grandson, Kyle Turpin, several cousins, numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Henry Sowell, Wilmer Sowell & Charles Sowell. There will be wake Friday, October 16 from 5-8 pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens. Visitation is Saturday October 17 at 1pm, followed by her celebration of life service at 2pm at Knollwood Church with Rev. Aaron Fruh officiating. Interment will follow at Mobile Memorial Gardens.
