Walter Franklin Branson, Sr. (Frank) 84, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2024, at home. He was born on January 01, 1940, in Millry, Al, to Barney and Iva Branson. He married Joette Scott on June 28, 1958, in Waynesboro, Ms.

In 1957 Frank moved to Mobile from Millry to start a job as a framer. This began his love for construction and soon started his own company (Branson Construction). Frank was devoted to his family and his profession, traveling the country building service stations and meeting people from all walks of life. Frank was a devout Christian and lived his faith daily with kindness and love for others. He had a strong love for horses and spent many years competing in horse shows. After retirement, Frank enjoyed living in Georgetown and tending to his goat farm with the company of his dogs Lucy and Emma. His greatest gifts to his children were teaching them hard work ethics and the skills to be successful.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gray Branson and Phillip Branson; sister Ouida McIlwain.

He is survived by his wife, Joette; five children, Nona McAlpine (Davis), Risa Baucom (Robert), Stephanie Mosley (Ronnie), Frank Branson, Jr. (Emily), and John Branson (Heidi); fourteen grandchildren, Matthew Kelley (Sarah), Summer Simmons (Charles), Dustin Harris (Kristin), Tyler Morgan (Montel), Sarah Broussard (Blake), Beka Branson (Ethan), Dillan Branson (Amanda), Oliver Cross, Bebe Branson, Emily Smith, Wes Smith, Charlie Smith, Lyle Smith, Mary Blythe Smith; twelve great grandchildren. and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Family, friends, and others are invited to Mobile Memorial Gardens, 6040 Three Notch Rd, Mobile, Al 36619 on Thursday October 17, 2024, to reminisce and honor the life of Walter Franklin Branson, Sr. The family will hold a visitation on Thursday from 1:00pm until 2:00pm with a funeral service beginning at 2:00 pm.
