Wanda Joan Bailey Sullivan, a native of Echola, AL and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Sunday, February 4, 2018 at the age of 77. Wanda was a member of New Hope Methodist Church; a longtime member of Gulf Coast Opry; served the Mobile Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America as a volunteer for many years in many capacities and was the recipient of the District Award of Merit and Silver Beaver Award, the highest award bestowed on a volunteer by the Boy Scouts of America. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fleetwood Harrison Bailey and Dena Muriel Crawford Bailey, and her husband, Charles Cooper Sullivan. Her survivors include her son, John Charles (Janeen) Sullivan; her sister, Judy Bailey (Bill) Blitch; 4 grandchildren, Jahard C. Sullivan, Valarae B. Sullivan, Michael Thornton and Justin Thornton; 4 great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Jacob, Connor and Sophia Thornton; nieces, Sharon Blitch and Jan Todd; nephew, William (Alexis) Blitch; great-niece, Mary Elizabeth Blitch; other relatives and friends. Funeral services, officiated by Brother Vann Bush and Dr. Jesse Shackelford will be held Saturday, February 10, 2018 at 12:00 Noon from New Hope United Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Friday evening, February 9, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and from 11:00 AM until 12:00 Noon Saturday morning at the church.
