PRIVETT
July 27, 1920-Sept. 28, 2015
Wilhelmina "Willie" Privett arrived at her heavenly home on September 28, 2015. She is preceded in death by her parents, George "Bill" Privett, Sr. and Lula Privett; brother, Rev. Calvin Privett,; sister, Burnetta Vickery and her husband, Paul; nephews, Paul Vickery, Jr. and William "Bill" Privett; niece's husband, John Clapper and son, John Clapper, Jr. Willie is survived by her brother, Dr. George Privett, Jr. (Martha); sister-in-law, Lorena Privett; nephews, Dale Vickery (Peggy); Jonathan (Cathleen), Gerald, David, and Ronald (Becki) Privett; nieces, Susan Clapper and Marcia George (Lloyd); nephew's wife, Barbara Vickery; very special friend, Emoline Tew. Willie graduated from Murphy High School in 1939. She was secretary to five managers at Sears where she worked for over 43 years. She was a member of the Mobile First Church of the Nazarene. Willie made many friends over the years and was a very compassionate person. She served as caregiver for her father, mother, and sister for many years. She also helped care for her friends who needed a helping hand. She was an avid Alabama football fan, enjoyed bowling and gardening. Peggy Vickery, her niece, would like to say it was an honor to have taken care of Willie for the past five years and to see her make a difference in the lives of those around her at Allen Memorial Home. Willie was not content to "just sit in her wheelchair". She encouraged others to join in all the activities. Her jokes, laughter and one-of- a-kind nature will always be remembered by all who met her. As Willie would always say to me, "You be you and I'll be me!" The family would like to thank all of the staff of the Allen Memorial Nursing Home and Gentiva Hospice for their tender loving care of our precious Willie. Funeral services, officiated by Paster B. Spencer Baggott, II, will be held from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 12 Noon, with visitation from 10 AM until 12 Noon. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
