William "Bill" Webster Arras, Sr.
Feb. 12, 1927-May 30, 2018
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Born on February 12, 1927, Bill lived a long, full life. He was raised in the Toulminville area where he went to school until the call to duty came at the young age of sixteen. He dropped out of high school and proudly joined the Merchant Marines. He spent the wartime years providing the needed supplies for our troops during WWII. A short time before being discharged from the Merchant Marines, Bill met and married his first true love, Casey Jo Pitts in 1950. He earned his high school degree, began a career with Stauffer Chemical, and went on to have three beautiful children: Jo, Bill Jr., and Adie. Bill spent the next thirty six years loving and caring for his wife and three children before Jo's passing in 1984. With Jo's passing, Bill retired from Stauffer Chemical after a 29 year career and started up his own consultation business, Pegasus. He was fortunate to find true love once again several years later when he met and married Patsy Black Bedsole in 1987. He also gained two children, Jason and Traci. His consulting years allowed Pat and him to travel around the United States enjoying life. One of his favorite trips though was their trip to Trinidad. He spent countless hours working with the LST 325 while it was docked at the Chickasaw Port and even traveled to Evansville, Indiana when it made its home there. He and Pat shared thirty years together before her passing in November of 2017. He is survived by his three children, Jo (Buddy) Boswell, Bill (Terri) Arras, and Adie (Norma) Arras; two step-children Jason (Wendy) Bedsole, and Tracie (James) Faessel; grandchildren, Ashley (Michael) Ray, Matthew (Emily) Boswell, Blake (Nicole) Boswell, Casey (Matt) Goldey, Christy (Darren) Boyington, Kagan Bedsole, Isabelle and Caroline Torress, Brady Faessel, Kate, Wes, and Miller Bedsole; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Cleo Zavros; nieces; nephews; other relatives; friends and his beloved dog, Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian and Cleo Arras; brother, Adrian Arras; two sisters, Frances Ashcraft and Adriana Collins. The family would like to give a special, "Thank you" to Dauphin Way Assisted Living Staff for taking such good care of him. He loved "his girls"!
