William Francis Bass, December 17, 1933 – July 29, 2019. Mr. William Francis Bass was a native of Charleston, Illinois, and a long-time resident of Mobile, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his Father, William Dalton Bass, Mother, Edith Ruby Brown, and brother Howard Eli Bass. Known as Frank, he was a graduate of the Mississippi College and the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. He is survived by his loving wife Geraldine Middleton Bass and they would have celebrated their sixty-sixth wedding anniversary in December. He has three children, D. A. Bass-Frazier (Douglas); Sandra Ziglar (Jim); and Billy (Darlene) Bass. He was fortunate to have four grandchildren, Ashley (Mitch) Johnson; Jessica (Clinton) Curry; William Francis Bass, III; and Katherine Frazier. He is survived by his three great-grandchildren, Chloe and Harper Johnson, and Henry Curry. Mr. Bass was very active in furniture sales including having been an officer of the Mobile Retail Furniture Association. After retiring as a manager with Hoffman’s Furniture, he loved fishing and spending time with his family. He was a duel member of the George U. Potter Lodge No. 192 and the Howard E. Palmes Lodge No. 917 both in Mobile. Between 2014 and 2015, he served as the Worshipful Master of the Palmes Lodge. Mr. Bass was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He asked that donations be made to the Charitable Fund of Howard E. Palmes Lodge #917, 7950 Cottage Hill Rd., Mobile, Alabama 36695.
