William Carter Ii

William Solly Carter II, known to loved ones as "Duce" and friends as "Bill" entered this world on January 30, 1969 in Mobile, AL and passed to Paradise October 2, 2017 in Dallas, Texas. May 8, 1983, Mother's Day, Duce made public his faith in Jesus Christ as his Savior in Baptism at Park Cities Baptist Church. Being secure in his faith, he would want you to know, there is only a gate between Earth and Paradise if you know your Savior. Duce is the son of Carolyn Dismukes Carter and the late William S. Carter. He was preceded in death by his late grandparents, Dr. William Aubrey Carter (Clara), late aunt, Betty Karpoff and Mayor Glen V. "Red" Dismukes (Carrie Lee) and late aunt, Gwendolyn Dismukes and uncles, Glenn P. and Charles W. Dismukes. He is survived and loved by his mother, Carolyn Carter, brother, Aubury Dismukes "Diz" Carter (Stacy), niece, Brenna and nephew, Zachary Carter and his aunts, Clara Carter Mosley, Ann Dismukes Lawler (Bill) and Dorothy Dismukes Mecca, along with many loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Duce spent his young years in Blytheville, AR before coming to Dallas. He attended schools in Merriman Park area, in 1988 he graduated Lake Highlands High School, and attended the University of Arkansas 1988-1991. He then, began his career with Carlson Wagonlit in the travel industry which he loved and continued working in travel for over 26 years. Duce was a passionate man who filled a room with his presence. Music was an enjoyment in his life. He played the drum-line in the LHHS band. His life and home was always filled with music. Duce loved the refreshing feel of water and the sunshine whether it was in his pool or at the beach. He enjoyed nature and gardening, watching the mourning doves and red birds build nests and raising their young by his patio year after year. He was a chef of his own making developing creative dishes and grilling outdoors. Most of all, Duce/Bill loved people. He invested himself in them and kept them near, all his days. He will see you on the other side of the gate. Duce lived his life in fellowship and love. John 13:34 "A new command I (Jesus) give to you: Love one another. As I have loved you, you must love one another. By this all men know you are my disciples, if you love one another." Many friends and his community were touched and mentored by his hard work, warm heart, free-spirit, and embracing personality. Dear friends, too many to mention, brought fun, support true friendship and love that were like family to him. He loved you so much! The world will be a different place without his energy and big heart. Those who missed time with him have missed a big part of God's love.
Graveside services and interment will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 2pm in Mobile Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Saturday 12-2pm at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
