William "Sonny" Otho Dyess, Jr., a native of Waynesboro, MS and longtime resident of Mobile, AL, died Saturday, April 25, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. Sonny was a sales manager in the industrial valve industry, played football at Mississippi State, loved working in his yard, enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially spending time with his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Otho and Lois Vann Dyess, and his sisters, Rhonda Dyess and Sarah Brewer. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Judy Rowell Dyess; two children, Kim Dyess (Joe) Fesenmeier and Cassie Dyess (Jeff) Bigler; grandchildren, Mark (Alyssa), Bradley, Alec and Ashley Bigler and Taylor, Annie and Franklin Fesenmeier; his siblings, Anne Hardy, Jane Pruett, Jerry (Tootsie) Dyess and Steve Dyess. Funeral services will be held from the Chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, April 29, 2015. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
