William Robert Jones, known to all as "Bill", was called home Thursday, February 25, 2016 in Mobile, AL. Bill was born January 11, 1933 in Greenville, SC. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Elizabeth Stanton Jones; his parents, Annie Elizabeth Harris Jones and Robert Alton Jones; his brother, Milton L. Jones and his sister, Joyce Watkins. Surviving are his two loving children, Ann (Craig) Culpepper and Mary Western; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Anderson, Stephen and William Culpepper; his brother, Ralph O. (Barbara) Jones; many other family members and friends, including a special friend, Barbara Martin. Bill was a diesel mechanic and retired from Southeastern Freight Lines. Bill always tried to lend everyone a helping hand and always took care of everyone. He could fix anything with a smile on his face. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Bill's name be made to Dauphin Way United Methodist Church, 1507 Dauphin St., Mobile, AL 36604; Mauldin United Methodist Church, 100 E. Butler Rd., Mauldin, SC 29662 or the Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Floor 17, Chicago, IL 60601. Visitation will be held Sunday, February 28, 2016 from 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church followed by a memorial service at 2:30 PM in the chapel at Dauphin Way United Methodist Church. Another memorial service will be scheduled in April, 2016 on a date to be announced at Mauldin United Methodist Church near Greenville, SC.
