William Herbert Leech Sr, 94, born to the late Leslie Earl and Mabel Crusius Leech of Mobile AL, passed away in the care of Shirley Rodeffer of Weyers Cave. He attended McGill Institute high school in Mobile before serving in the WW II US Army Engineers, constructing runways. After receiving his B.S. in Chemistry in 1951 from Spring Hill College, he worked first at American Bitumuls and then Union Carbide, both of Mobile. He remained in Mobile after his retirement in 1986 until the passing of his beloved wife, Mary Ellen in 2003, after which he lived with his sons, John and Doug in Virginia. In 2009, he moved to Weyers Cave as a resident of Family Home Living Adult Care. He is survived by his sons, Charles Douglas Leech of Nellysford, VA, John Leslie Leech, and wife, Elaine, of Clifton, VA; a granddaughter, Ashley; a great-granddaughter, Clara of both of Chantilly; William H. Leech Jr, wife, Candi, and granddaughters, Courtney and Kristin, all of Atlanta, Georgia; numerous extended family members from Alabama and California. Grateful appreciation is extended to Miss Shirley Rodeffer and her extended family; the staff of Family Home Living Adult Care, Pam, Janet and Tara; and Sentara-RMH Hospice Staff; and Mr. Elwin Ricketts. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 6, 2015 from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 12 noon. Visitation will start at 11 am Friday. Burial in Mobile Memorial Gardens
