William (Bill) Marshall

Company First Sergeant William Edward Marshall, US Army, Retired.
Born on May 1, 1942, in Mobile, Al; passed away on December 22, 2021, in Sennfeld, Germany.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his grandmother, 4 brothers, and 1 sister. He is survived by Mrs. Helga Marshall, his wife of 35 years, his daughter Elizabeth Anne of Switzerland, his son Phillip Wayne of Germany, his son Gerald Brant of Germany, his sister Carolyn Goff of Mobile, AL, many nieces, nephews, and a host of family and friends!
Mr. Marshall proudly served and retired after 21 years of service in the United States Army. He served in Korea, Vietnam, Germany, and stateside. He retired with the rank of Company First Sergeant. He was highly decorated having received a Good Conduct Medal, Army Commendation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Silver Star, Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and the Meritorious Service Medal to name a few.
Past Post Commander GR42 William E Marshall, with the assistance of the Department Officers, was instrumental in establishing the charter and Post Home of Omar Bradley Post GR42. Besides being a Post GR42 Charter Member, Commander and Service Officer, he also excelled at Department level as NECMAN, ALT NECMAN, Commander, VCAL, Vice Commander and many other positions. He was a 33-year member of the American Legion. He was a Voyageur of Locale V1524 and then of V1546 for a total of 32 years. He was a Locale and Grand Chef de Gare Passe.
Graveside services for Mr. Marshall will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 10:00 am at the Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Mobile, AL.
