PARENTEAU

William Larchar Parenteau Sr., age 83, passed away on Friday, March 29, 2019 in Mobile, AL surrounded by family. He was the beloved husband of Patricia M. Parenteau, and they were married 60 wonderful years. Born in Providence, Rhode Island, he is proceeded in death by his parents Phillip Parenteau and Emma Olsen Parenteau, brother Phillip Parenteau, and step sister Dorothy Vieweg. Mr. Parenteau was a veteran serving 8 years of active duty in the Air Force, and later served in the Rhode Island National Guard and the Alabama National Guard until his retirement in 1995. He was a devout Christian and an active member of Creekwood Church of Christ. He had a servant's heart which included serving Meals on Wheels through his church. His passion was music. He loved to write music and though he had no formal training, he could play any musical instrument or song. He played keyboard in Bill Mixon's Orchestra for many years. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. His family will remember him by his wit, music, and love of life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Mr. Parenteau is survived by his wife, Patricia M., his children; Robert Scott Parenteau (Mary), Madison, MS; Barbara P. Whittle (Richard), Mobile, AL; and William L. Parenteau Jr., Virginia Beach, VA. He is also survived by his grandchildren Eric J. Whittle (Andrea), Robert S. Parenteau Jr. (Lisa), Malerie L. Mejia (Herlin), Sara P. Sahler (Andy), Stephanie T. Parenteau, and Erin E. Whittle; and four great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 4th, 2019 at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. until service time at 12:00 P.M.
