On Sunday, January 13, 2019, William "Bill" Elmer Sullivan, loving husband and father of three children, passed away peacefully due to natural causes in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
Bill was born on April 21, 1928 in Cortelyou, Alabama to Lindsey Jake and Sallie Clarke Sullivan. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Peggy Sullivan, and is survived by his second wife, Jane Harper Sullivan. Bill married Peggy on April 17, 1954 and they raised three children. He married Jane on December 14, 2004. Bill enjoyed a 41 year career with International Paper; served in the United States Army rising to the rank of First Sergeant before his honorable discharge and served in varying consulting roles after retirement.
Bill was known for his love and protection for his wife, love and provision for his children and his intensity at work. He loved Alabama football and stayed in touch with his IP co-workers through the Monday Morning Breakfast Club until recently.
In addition to his wife, Jane, Bill is survived by his three children, Pam, Rhonda and Scott. He was preceded in death not only by his parents and his first wife, but also his brothers and sister, David, Lamar, Alva and LJ. He has many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, January 18, 2019 from 11:00 AM - 12:00 Noon. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 Noon from the chapel. Condolences may be offered at www.mobilememorialfunerals.com.
