William Summersgill

July 12, 1926 — August 15, 2016

William Luther Summersgill, Born July 12, 1926 in Whister, AL. (Age 90) Died August 15, 2016 at home with his wife and family at his side.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers (Rex, James, Jack, Elmer), his sisters (Ruth Wilber, Thelma McCormick), and his son Daniel Summersgill.
He is survived by his wife of 69 years Doris Summersgill, sons - Don (Opal) Summersgill, Keith Summersgill, Ken (Brenda) Summersgill, Daughter - Kathy (Lew) Walding,
his sister - Phyllis Dunnam, seven grandchildren - Amy Stork, Carmen Summersgill, Luke Walding, Brooke Walding, Shelton Summersgill, Daniele Adams, Cynthia Schneider,
5 great grandchildren - Nicholas Stork, Micah Summersgill, Ashlynn Stork, Ellie Evans, and Zoe Adams, as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Bill was a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps. He was stationed in the Pacific in World War II during three invasions. He had the honor of going to
Washington D.C. on the Honor Flight trip to see the WWII memorial. He worked for South Central Bell for 35 years. He was a Boy Scout leader for 16 years
of Troop 3, Whistler, AL (which was the same troop he was in as a child). Bill was an avid golfer, loved to fish, loved his family, but most of all loved his Savior,
was a wonderful Christian Man and was a member of Luke 4:18 Fellowship Church.
Visitation will be held at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home, Thursday August 18th, 2016 from 12:00pm - 2:00pm.
Services will be held in the Chapel at 2:00pm. Military Honors will be rendered at graveside in Mobile Memorial Gardens. In Lieu of flowers, the family asks
that donations be made to Luke 4:18 Fellowship. Pallbearers will be Don Summersgill, Keith Summersgill, Ken Summersgill, Lew Walding, Luke Walding,
and JoeLee Summersgill. Honorary Pallbearers will be Nicholas Stork, Micah Summersgill, J.T. McNorton, Luther Havard, and Robert Mienheart.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Springhill Home Health and Hospice, Caregivers - Jennifer Williams, Aamie Thompson, and Helena Davis.
