William Roy Zdenek, age 78, and resident of Grand Bay, Alabama, was born April 22nd, 1946, and passed on February 22nd, 2025, due to Vascular Angio Sarcoma. He graduated from Southwest State Technical College Barber Program. He was also trained as an airborne medic but was sent to Vietnam as a combat medic for the Recon platoon for the 1st infantry 28th Regiment. He was a awarded numerous medals for Valor in the army. When his company was overrun and he carried the survivors through a minefield. After Vietnam, he was an air medic responding to downed aircraft earning his flight wings. Upon returning to Civilian life, he returned to barbering. He worked for and retired from Poirouxs Barbershop after 30 years. He loved his family and Jesus, he attended Forest Park Bible Church.
William is preceded in death by; his father, Frank Zdenek; and his mother, Eunice Zdenek.
He is survived by; his son, Billy Shaun Zdenek of Grand Bay, AL; his grandson, Christian Lee Zdenek of Manheim, PA; his aunt, Betty Easter Baker of Pensacola, FL; his cousins, Sandra Tomlinson of Pensacola, FL, Ann Gray of Pensacola, FL, Janice Smith of Clarksville, TN, Charlotte Jennings of Panama City, FL, Gina Millican of Panama City, FL, Donna Strater of Edinburg, VA, Ed McCarthy of Beaver Creek, OH, Jerry Adkins of Pensacola, FL, Coy Pelham Jr. of Alaska, and Robert Pelham, Frank Pelham, Richard Pelham of New York.
William Zdenek's funeral service will be held Monday, March 31st, 2025, at 2 P.M., at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday, March 31st, 2025, from 1 P.M. to 2 P.M., at Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
