Winifred E. Hughes, a native of Heron Bay, and resident of Whatley, AL died in a local hospital on Friday. She was preceded in death by her son, James Melvin Hughes. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Hughes; three sons, Steve Hughes, Zachery (Lisa) Hughes and William Patrick Hughes; three sisters, Jesse Makler, Jenny Veres and Irene Keen; two brothers, Buster Lyons and George Lyons; six grandchildren, two great grandchildren and other relatives. Funeral services will be held from Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 10, 2016 at 2 pm. Visitation will start at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
